As an important part of this discipleship ministry, the Tonglamuns run Ripple Valley Farm, developing this working farm into a center of education for the community. The farm focuses on unique, but sustainable projects (such as honeybees, pigs, and aquaponics) that can provide food for the Tonglamuns and their neighbors. The goal is for the farm to be a showcase for others to learn how to implement these projects in their own homes or villages.
As He fed the crowds spiritually, He also fed them physically, and some of the most impactful moments of Jesus’ ministry happened around a table. At Ripple Valley, discipleship does not just happen while studying the Word, but while guiding disciples into action by launching projects that will feed people’s minds, souls, and bodies. The Tonglamuns seek to be a blessing to the community by giving abundantly from their small farm, and they hope that this generosity creates ripple effects throughout their area and ultimately throughout Thailand.
The most recent project for Ripple Valley Farm has been the pig breeding program that Golf has been introducing to the local villages in Northern Thailand. This new technique provides a way to raise pigs in less area, while simultaneously improving health and hygiene for the animals, by utilizing a self composting enclosure. As each new litter of piglets is born, piglets are given as gifts to members of the community, who in turn implement the techniques they have learned and pass on the knowledge and piglets to a new family in the village.
From one man He made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from any one of us. Acts 17:26-27
