Another Little Fire Burns Bright: Church Founded in Lependera

In our “Three Dreams, One Mission” blog, we shared Dan LeMaison’s prophetic dream—standing atop Mount Wargas as dusk settled, watching ten little fires pop up across the barren landscape, burning brightly with brilliant light as night enveloped the desert. Dan knew upon waking that those ten fires represented ten churches God was calling him to help build across Northern Kenya.

Today, we lit another one of those fires—and witnessed the Light of Christ ignite in fifty hearts.

In the remote village of Lependera, surrounded by the vast expanses of Northern Kenya’s challenging terrain, a new church has been officially founded. What began as a vision seen in a dream years ago became reality as community leaders, local believers, and our ministry team gathered to establish this beacon of hope in a region where darkness has held sway for far too long.

But the founding ceremony was only the beginning of what God had planned for this day. As the Gospel message was preached, connecting the Light of the World spoken into existence at creation with the light we are called to be as Christians, something extraordinary happened. The message focused on how we were all created to carry that divine light—and that anyone could pray to receive that light today.

Over fifty people responded to that invitation.

Fifty souls in Lependera who had never known the saving grace of Jesus Christ stepped forward to receive Him as their Savior. Fifty individuals who had lived in spiritual darkness discovered they were created to carry the light of the Gospel. Fifty new brothers and sisters joined God’s eternal family in this remote corner of Northern Kenya.

The celebration that followed reflected the magnitude of what had just taken place. As is customary in our ministry, the church provided a community meal—not just for the new believers, but for the entire manyatta. Over 300 members of this vast community were fed, experiencing firsthand the love and generosity that flows from the Gospel.

This is more than just another church plant—it’s a testimony to God’s heart for the unreached and His power to transform entire communities. The founding of Lependera AGC represents the specific number church plant that has emerged from our Northern Kenya ministry, each one representing not just Dan’s vision fulfilled, but God’s heart for the lost being made manifest.

As we stood in Lependera today, watching fifty people pray to receive Christ while 300 community members shared a meal together, we couldn’t help but think of Dan’s prophetic dream. The little fire he saw burning brightly in this exact location is no longer a vision—it’s a reality ablaze with new life. It’s fifty souls rescued from darkness. It’s a community discovering what it means to be loved by the Creator of the universe.

The light that began burning in Lependera today will continue to spread. These fifty new believers will carry that light to their families, their neighbors, their villages. The fire that was lit today will kindle other fires across the region, just as Dan saw in his dream.

Thank you for partnering with us in this incredible work. Your prayers, encouragement, and support make it possible for these little fires to ignite across Northern Kenya—and for the Gospel to reach hearts that have waited generations to hear the Good News.

The fire in Lependera burns bright tonight, illuminating fifty lives forever changed by the Light of the World.

From one man He made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from any one of us. Acts 17:26-27
